I definitely need to post an update, since it is now 6 months past my 4th procedure! Hopefully that will be the last one, things are finally on the upswing. Yes, still doing hyperbaric oxygen every other day, that has been a big part of my recovery too. Adding oxygen as a supplement is great and speeds recovery, but it can’t overcome the hypoxia caused by blocked veins, so that is the first thing to tackle.

I just turned 70 years old, have had symptoms since my 30ies but was diagnosed only 9 years ago. When I heard about the CCSVI procedure I was so excited and for the first time…HOPE. I went to Atlanta for my procedure in March, 2011. Everyone who knows me has noticed such an improvement…it’s wonderful! I get better each day and am able to work…I’m a real estate broker. I have so much more energy, my legs don’t feel like they are filled with cement, my brain functions so much better. I recomment CCSVI without reservation. Alice, North Carolina

I am interested 4 months out now how you are doing after the 3rd treatment?
I read your testimonial on the hyperbaric oxygen treatment. I am also interested to know if you are still doing that as well.

Hello!
My name is Gina and I am the patient who had my first (only?) CCSVI just before you in Tukwila. I am happy to hear that things are going well for you and your husband (My husband and son and I met him briefly in the waiting room.) I went in with few expectations but I have reaped so many rewards already. I am an actress and the first thing that came back for me was my articulation. I am far less tired now and small improvements are presenting themselves each day.
I want to thank your husband for his waiting room words of encouragement “This is going to change your life.” he said and it was the first time I started to really take in the potential of the surgery for me.
Dr McGuckin was really thorough and put me at ease. Pat Shaw, Victoria and the rest of the staff were great. A+ all around! Best of Luck to you and yours!

Awesome news SammyJo!!! HOPEfully this will do the trick and now you can really heal. Thank you for being a pioneer and letting us know the good, the bad and the ugly. I was treated in Albany (Latham) Sept. 15/10. I now know that I have been under treated. No complaints from me. It is a learning curve for every one. I know I would get better results now but I cannot afford it so I guess I will have to HOPE that this will come to Canada. I am losing time that I could be living but until then my depression is setting in again and just last week I was discussing on weaning off my antidepressants. Oh well one less hassle to deal with.
I am looking forward to further updates and take good care of you

Dr. McGuckin along with his partner in Houston, TX Dr. Barakat liberated me on 1/26/11. They were wonderful and I am making great progress. Both are wonderful doctors and anyone would be lucky to go to them. Plus the clinic support staff nurses etc are the BEST.

My plans are to have Dr. McGuckin do my second treatment. Appointment has not been made yet. I want to make sure that insurance will cover because that has been a major problem in the past. He sounds like an excellent doctor and I am anxious to make “this” happen.

Welcome to the 3rd timers club. I am so happy that you were able to stay local with such a knowledgeable doctor! I hope that your return to good flow lasts a very long time. But as many of us have learned, this ain’t no one time fix. Sigh…
